Our Story
At Torque Performance Developments we are your one stop shop for all your vehicle performance needs. From a range of performance parts, a full operating performance service workshop, custom fabrication division, and a 4wd dyno for custom tuning for both OEM and aftermarket ECU's.
Torque Performance was establish in 1991 as a premium tuning shop for people that loved all things Automobiles. We also designed and sold dynamometers under the brand DynoTorque, with many still in operation in shops across the country to this day. We were one of the first to reverse engineer early Holden ECU's and assisted in helping some well known companies develop their ECU products .
Over the years much has changed, we have moved premises, upgraded our dyno, accumulated a massive range of tuning & diagnostic tools and tune files, and also in 2008 contracted to Honda NZ to become an authorized Honda service agent for West Auckland.
In 2020 Torque Performance was sold to our then General Manager & vehicle tuner Daniel Antonievic, and Jon-Paul Ferguson owner of R Developments, a vehicle performance shop who specialised in customer products such as fuel systems, fabrication and vehicle wiring. Daniel and JP integrated the two companies together and changed the company name slightly to Torque Performance Developments to recognize the Merger.
Our company directors are passionate about what they do, they are absolutely car crazy, they eat, sleep and dream automotive, and regularly bring their work home at the bane of their family's. They also get just as excited working on our customers cars are they do with their own cars.
Jon-Paul "JP" Ferguson - Technical Director
The man behind our performance builds. coming from a Motorsport background building race cars (GT86 series cars), track focused performance vehicles, Performance street cars and purpose built drag cars. He also owned his own performance company R Developments before purchasing part of Torque Performance and integrating R developments into Torque Performance.
JP heads our vehicle build processes and controls the companies fabrication arm. He is the guy that will sit with our customers to plan out vehicle builds and and works closely with out technicians to develop their and his own skills.
Daniel Antonievic - Managing Director, Tuner
Daniel has been working with Torque Performance since 2012, Originally as the companies business development manager and then General Manager until he purchased the business along side JP in 2020. He honed his Management skills by doing an MBA part time at university while working full time, as well as gaining as much tuning training from Robin over this time.
Daniel manages day to day business operations as well as being the companies vehicle tuner. He originally started tuning on OEM vehicle ECU's mainly European Bosch & Continental ECU's, Denso (Mitsubishi & Subaru),Honda with Hondata/Ktuner and Nissan UpREV. Since then he has branched out into other platforms including aftermarket ECU's with Haltech being his favorite. He is very approachable, customer focused and happy to spend time with customers to help them with their inquiries.
