Torque Performance is one of New Zealand’s longest established and trusted dyno tuning specialists. We began with New Zealand's first 4wd rolling road dyno in 1992 and since then we have out grown our dyno gear which has necessitated 3 total dyno upgrades.
In the early 1990’s, we became the first company in NZ to custom tune factory ECU’s on Ford, Mitsubishi, Holden, Nissan and Subaru vehicles.
In the present day, we have diversified as the only workshop to perform custom tunes on Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW and all other popular European vehicles among others.

The job can’t be done correctly without the right gear, which is why we have continued to update our dyno systems.
Our latest and greatest DynoTorque 4WD dyno features another NZ first of oversize rollers for greater traction and accuracy. The electronics and software are all developed in house and feature on many dyno workshops throughout NZ.
Our dyno cell is fully insulated for temperature stability. Fume extraction is accomplished by three power fans which move in excess of 6000cf/m.
We have a variety of cooling fans for engine, radiator and intercoolers to ensure the best simulation of airflow.
Monitoring of exhaust air / fuel ratio, engine knock, boost pressure, fuel pressure and temperatures are all accomplished electronically and data-logged.
Latest scan tool and data-loggers are on hand for all the vehicles we specialise in.
Our tuners have over 30 years collective dyno tuning experience with fuel injection.
At Torque Performance we know every car is different and we will always tune with an end use in mind. It’s not always about every last kilowatt, but a broader perspective. One tune does not suit all! We will customise the tune to suit the application.
Some tuners will focus on peak power numbers, which is expressed by the dyno graph.
We focus equally on the entire operating range of the engine. Right from starting and idling, through light cruise, medium power to wide open throttle. Tuning for wide open throttle takes only a fraction of the tuning time. Optimum power, torque, economy, longevity, driveability, response, cold start and idle quality are all taken care of.
Let’s not forget reliability is the key! Why bother with tuning your engine if it’s to be compromised with a razor edge tune? We will always leave enough in reserve to ensure a continued safety margin for you engine. To win, you must first finish the race.

It seems the market is flooded with aftermarket ECU’s. A-Z is just about covered with many ECU types to suit varying applications and budgets. At Torque Performance, over the years we have tuned most of them.
We will tune just about any ECU, controller or piggy back computer you have fitted to your vehicle. However we choose to stick to the brands we know inside out and can support thoroughly. We will recommend, supply, install and tune to suit your application.
